Orange Buff Podcast Ep.3 – Kickstarter & Indiegogo Projects
Once i am the Lone Rider with my horse on this episode. Just to give small context about, what i’m talking about in this episode. Kickstarter and Indiegogo projects are becoming really popular in gaming scene, especially when it comes to indie games, but when does the big companies come to ask money from the gamers?
The problem in this particular thing is that, players become the investors to the game and they practically have no revenue share and they practically take all the risk. Imagine if you throw 100$ at a new Kickstarter game, but the game turns out to be huge disappointment to you and they close the servers for the game, well you have no way to get your money back from that. You might not realize the situation right now, but you might understand what i’m saying here, i hope that publishers would take more risk and don’t ask people to donate money to games that might not even work out properly.
I felt obligated to write this small text here since i didn’t really mention it on the podcast. It was only to clarify my point to the readers/listeners.
