League Of Legends – Olaf Top Guide
Hi, guys continuing my guides at toplane and this time i felt like demonstrating a champion that is not so popular outside Korea at the moment. That being Olaf, who is actually really great against current toplaners like Shyvana, Mundo, Jax, Nasus and Renekton. If you happen to play as Olaf please get the Pentakill Olaf skin, since its clearly the best skin for him.
For each 1% of health missing, Olaf’s Attack Speed is increased by 1%.
Cost: 60 Mana
Olaf throws an axe into the ground at a target location, dealing damage to units it passes through and slowing their movement speed. If Olaf picks up the axe, the ability’s cooldown is reduced by 4.5 seconds.
Olaf throws an axe to a target location, dealing 70/115/160/205/250 (+100% bonus Attack Damage) physical damage to units it passes through and slowing them by 29/33/37/41/45% for up to 2.5 seconds. The further the Axe flies, the longer the slow lasts, but it is never less than 1.5 second.If Olaf picks up the axe, the ability’s cooldown is reduced by 4.5 seconds.
Cost: 30 Mana
Olaf’s Attack Speed is increased, he gains Lifesteal and has increased healing from all sources based on how much health he is missing.
For 6 seconds, Olaf gains 9/12/15/18/21% Lifesteal and Attack Speed is increased by 40/50/60/70/80%. During this time, Olaf also receives 1% increased healing from all sources for every 2.5% of Health he is missing.
Olaf attacks with such force that it deals true damage to his target and himself, refunding the Health cost if he destroys the target.
Olaf ferociously swings his axes, dealing 70/115/160/205/250 (+40% Attack Damage) true damage to his target. This ability’s cost is equal to 30% of the total damage dealt, but the cost is refunded if it kills the target.Basic attacks lower the cooldown of Reckless Swing by 1 second.
Cost: No Cost
Olaf temporarily becomes immune to disables.
Passive: Olaf gains 10/20/30 Armor and 10/20/30 Magic Resist.
Active: Olaf removes all disables from himself and becomes immune to them for the next 6 seconds. During this time, Olaf loses the passive portion of Ragnarok and gains 40/60/80 Attack Damage.
With Olaf you pretty much two different possibilities one being Offense tree and other being defense tree. He is pretty versatile in a sense where he deals pretty decent damage as a tank, but he can be pretty tanky too with bruiser items.
The Second variation being a 21-9-0 with pretty much the health bonus stuff included, which is somewhat handy on early game perhaps, but it does slightly remove the overall damage output.
Items Builds & Choices
Thing i really love about Olaf is that you can pretty much build anything to him, hes extremely versatile (Well you can’t build AP but yeah). He doesn’t have these core items which are really required of him, he has everything on his abilities pretty much.
Pretty much standard split push build, where i also included few items to optional section, in case you want to play teamfight tank with some damage on the side. Some sections i see lucidity boots being recommended, those aren’t that bad choice, since you want to have ultimate up most of the time.
With recent changes to Runes i think there is more options now with all different stuff. While per level magic resistance & armor got buffed which means that once you hit level 7 you have outscaled the flats. It becomes very clear to me that per levels are better. That being said also lifesteal quints are nerfed, which opens opportunity for Attack speed quints, which is also perfect choice for Olaf due his (E) and (W).
