League Of Legends – Blitzcrank Mid Guide

Season 4 is coming very soon and this will be final guide until season 4 patch goes live, since there will be hard work updating every guide to season four patch. This time ill be showing one of my classic niches Midcrank. It’s not heavy carry, who can score penta kills during the game, but its extremely valuable playmaker (if your able to land 80% of Hooks).


  • Even if you lose early game, your hooks can be game changing.
  • Strong 1:1 AP Ratios.
  • Good Wave clear and pushing ability.
  • Passive has immense sustain with mana item.


  • Hard to last hit pre-6 unless your against melee opponent.
  • High mana costs early game.
  • High cooldowns for hook.
  • Relies on landing 80% of hooks



I use same AP runes for each champion in midlane, except Galio. Midcrank is no difference, this rune page is just optimal for every midlaner which makes it so great. Although Season 4 Rune Changes are probably going to change that quintessences are going to be more utillity based? I’m not sure about this, but there is going to be drastically different quints on season 4.

Anyhow i believe Offense tree is best for Midcrank, but after season four you should put few ranks to utillity since its very powerful tree also defense is not that bad either.


Item Builds & Choices

Midcrank items are very similar to any AP carry, with exception of Rod Of Ages & Lichbane. Since Midcrank build is very reliable to mana items, but depending which role you want to play as Midcrank you can change your build a lot. Since there is practically only 2-3 Core items.


Summoner Spells

I think i don’t need to teach people how to pick summoner spells, even bronze players know what to pick except some fail junglers. Just to be simple i just marked those spells with red cross that you should never pick. Yellow circle is optional choices and green ones that you should always pick. Just to give insight about Smite, why i listed it to yellow ones, that is because if your able to smite units between enemy champion and you, your able to grab him. Also this compensates bad laning phase for getting some gold (remember to take +10 gold mastery).
