InvaderMEEN Muses: Why I Voted for AirMech

(and why you should, too!)

Hello fellow gamers! InvaderMEEN here, and I’m going to try something just a little bit different here on MobaMonster: a series of editorials called “InvaderMEEN Muses”.

Fun Fact: muse (verb) means: to become absorbed in thought; especially :  to turn something over in the mind meditatively and often inconclusively.

MMOBomb.com has been hosting the “Ultimate F2P Showdown”, in which free-to-play games are pitted against each other in a tournament-style voting bracket. The game that gets the most votes moves on to the next round, until they crown a winner. As it stands, AirMech is in the finals for the Wizard division, and is currently facing off against Warframe. Voting ends March 28th, 1PM PDT.

As an avid player of both AirMech and Warframe, I was faced with a difficult decision. I’m terrible at choosing favorites, so I had to seriously think about who to vote for. In the end, I voted for AirMech, and here’s why I think you should too:

  1. Community. AirMech has a friendly, tight-knit player base. The developers regularly interact with the players, by being active on the forums and making frequent appearances in the game’s global chat.
  2. AirMech is a significantly smaller game than Warframe. It would benefit AirMech more to win this contest than Warframe.
  3. If AirMech wins against Warframe, an in-game cosmetic inspired by Warframe will be added to AirMech, as a sign of respect. Not only does this serve as a permanent ad for Warframe, but it is something fun that the players can wear in-game with pride.

Those are the main reasons why I voted for AirMech over Warframe. I think they are both stellar games with huge potential, and I wish the best for them both.

InvaderMEEN is newer to the scene of moba games, and although he enjoys playing titles such as AirMech, Awesomenauts, and League of Legends, he isn't terribly good at them. He also is a YouTuber who enjoys posting content frequently. Outside of the moba genre he is a jack-of-all-trades gamer who plays a wide variety of genres, from shooters like Warframe and Battlefield 3 to creative games like Minecraft and Terraria.
