Arena of Fate Technical Alpha starts Early 2015

Following statement was posted to Arena of Fate Sub Reddit by Crytek Staff. Stay tuned for more views regarding this game and other Moba updates at MobaMonster.

Today we want to give you an update on the ongoing development of Arena of Fate, and what it means for the Technical Alpha (aka the first phase we will invite external players into). We previously promised that we want to be as transparent and open with you as possible, and that is obviously true for bad news as well.

The big news for today is that the Technical Alpha Test of Arena of Fate is now scheduled to begin in early 2015, and not in 2014 as we had previously communicated. We realize that this will come as a disappointment to our fans who want to finally leave their own mark on the Arena, but we feel that the game needs some additional development time before we are ready to unleash a large number of experienced MOBA players on it.

More specifically, the team’s current focus is on the metagame- in other words, anything outside the actual 20 minute matches that some of you were able to play at GamesCom. Based on the feedback from that event, we feel that we are on a good path with our moment-to-moment gameplay, but we want Arena of Fate to be a game that you will as gladly return to after your 500th game as after your 5th, and the community of players around you will be a big part of that. This is why we want to take some extra time to work on the surrounding feature set, which will provide players with easy ways to find friends and teams to fight alongside.

We look forward to seeing the first members of the community in the Arena soon, and can’t wait for 2015 to come- it will be a big year for Arena of Fate, and we hope that you will all join us for the ride! The Arena of Fate TeamAoF-ComRaven
